Having a distinct geography , socio-economic & different health behaviour the state of Uttar Pradesh Plan to establish government medical college at Basti along with 4 more new Medical COllege. As a result Maharshi Vashishtha Autonomous State Medical College is established in Basti in 2019. Basti is situated 202 km east of State Capital Lucknow and Basti Railway station lies on the mainline connecting Lucknow with Gorakhpurand places of Bihar & Assam.NH 28 also passes through Basti. The objective of creative a govt. Medical college at Basti is to provide cost effective health services to the entire Basti region and will help to improve access to health services for coomon people of the state.
